Aggregates mining and concrete production

Since 1970 Orobica Inerti has been mining and processing aggregates in a 17 hectares area on the outskirts of Osio Sopra, in an area completely surrounded by farmland.

Quarrying activities in harmony with agriculture
The aggregates processing plant, the storage area and the concrete plant, which accounts for over half of the aggregates production, are located below street level and are hidden by a planted terrace and a plant barrier of medium and tall trees. The mining and the quarrying areas cover about 7 hectares and are accessed via an underpass specially designed to channel the traffic of heavy vehicles. Particular attention is paid to the environment: the offices themselves are located in wooden buildings, veritable “cottages” that are well integrated into the surrounding vegetation, obtained by restoring and redeveloping the slopes. The entire production area is paved with concrete and has a system for water recovery, treatment and reuse for the production cycle. Besides it environmental sensitivity, Orobica Inerti is also characterized by its intense safety training that involves employees and collaborators and for the choice of an organization that is entirely geared towards quality: from the CE certification of materials, for which the company has its own modern laboratory, to the UNI EN ISO 9000 certification of the production process, both for mining and for the concrete plant. Many land development measures have been implemented during these years of business.
