Since Marini Giuseppe founded it 1897 our company has been mining and processing stones from its own quarries. Starting from handicraft, completely manual, work done with simple tools and black powder, we have grown to use the most modern mining and processing techniques, always staying up-to-date. Nowdays, Ceppo di Gré’s quarry is mined underground, to reduce environmental impact and improve occupational safety. This significant investment has enabled us to improve the production and quality of the quarried material. Today Marini Marmi is now in its fourth generation and continues with commitment, professionalism and passion along the path marked by those who came before us, to partner and grow with our customers, designers and suppliers. The experience gained over the years and by smoothly carrying out major projects places Marini Marmi among the current industry leaders.
In 2001 Ceppo di Gré received the “Pietre Originali della Bergamasca” (Original Stones of the Bergamo area” recognition, awarded by the Bergamo Chamber of Commerce.
Marini Marmi periodically runs laboratory tests on the Ceppo di Gré vein, to ensure continuous performance of its stone and to provide clients and designers with CE marking for outdoor and indoor applications, a further quality guarantee.

Ceppo di Gré (Ceppo of Lake Iseo) is a blue-grey dolomitic monogenic debris, with a conglomerate appearance, belonging to clastic sedimentary rocks with calcareous matrix cementations. Block sizes approx. 280x150x150 cm, 2 cm is the minimum sawn thickness. Its mineralogical homogeneity translates into an excellent workability of the material. The main surface treatments are: plane sawing, sanding, brushing, sandblasting, bushhammering, trimming and hydro-carveing. Thanks to its excellent frost and weather resistance, various thicknesses are used, outdoor and indoor for floors, ventilated walls, ornate work, and all traditional and technological applications of natural stone, in design, construction, street furniture, parks and gardens.
Aggloceppo® (regenerated Ceppo) is a homogeneous mixture obtained by mixing water, aggregate of Ceppo di Gré and white cement. The mix is vibro-compacted into blocks.
