Mining and processing of aggregates. Concrete production

Since 1974, Cava Francesca developed its business in the existing production area, about 30 hectares wide, home to both the excavation system with a floating dredger and the aggregate processing, with two cone mills and a rod mill for the progressive reduction of the mined material in the required grit sizes. The concrete manufacturing plant is also located in the quarry area, since it uses part of the mined and processed aggregates.

Synergistic technologies
The mining of the vein, located at about 15 meters below ground level, is nearing completion on the north side. The two East and West sides have already been recovered by creating green slopes and planting tall trees. Beside the quarry area, where in the past there was an other mine, now there are two reservoirs used for sport fishing, in agreement with the ownership Cava Francesca completely renovated the area, softening and reshaping the slopes. A similar intervention was carried out in the Ponciparello area, once used for mining by Cava Ponciparello,and owned by the Quistini family. The San Michele artificial lake is now totally recovered from a naturalistic point of view and is used for fishing. Many works have been completed, and the area has benefited from them.
