Mining and processing aggregates, concrete and construction products

Founded in 1969, Cava dell’Isola Srl began its quarrying activity and aggregate production in 1972, on an area of about 300 square meters in the municipalities of Medolago, Solza and Calusco d’Adda, but the Group’s mining activities date back to 1925.

A long history of accomplishments.
The Cava dell’isola Srl company is part of a vertically integrated group that produces CE 2+ certified aggregates, pipes and boxes for sewers, ducts (also coated with a polyethylene liner), pits, concretes and special creations, as a general contractor for public and private organizations. Since 1972, Cava dell’Isola began operating in one of the most important veins in the province, in an area far away from the nearby towns. It is accessed via a 3.5 km road, specially built in the 70s to avoid the town. The quarry covers a terraced front about 70 meters high. The aggregates selection plant is located on the bottom of the quarry. It produces sifted rock, sand, stone chippings and different grain sizes of gravel, covering only a part of the production of concretes and items manufactured in the Group’s facilities. The company’s environmental sensitivity is proven by its environmental restoration activities in which it carries out revegetation and reforestation with native species and plants of trees to minimize the quarry’s visual impact. Lastly, Cava dell’isola has made great efforts for the environment and the territory, which have had positive effects on sustainability.
